Diagnosis: 1. Hereditary Retinopathy 2. Retinal Detachment
Discharge Date: 2019/11/07

Before treatment:
At the age of 6 the patient's parents found that her vision was impaired. The condition progressed and her vision in both eyes gradually decreased until she completely lost her vision in the right eye a year ago. She was treated in a local hospital and was diagnosed with "hereditary retinopathy (retinal detachment)." After treatment the visual acuity of the right eye did not change significantly and the visual acuity of the left eye decreased significantly. At present the patient's right eye is blind with only a partial sense of light and the vision of the left eye is also significantly declined. Although she can read books and distinguish colors she can only see 50% of the things clearly and her vision is blurred.
She has good spirit, her sleep and diet are normal, her urination and defecation functions are normal.

Admission PE:
Pulse rate: 99/min, body temperature: 36.7 degrees, breathing rate: 19/min, height: 157cm; weight: 57kg, blood pressure: 116/83mmHg. The patient had normal physical development, she was alert, had clear speech with normal memory and orientation ability. Her left pupil was equal and round with a diameter of 3.5mm reacting sensitively to light. The right side was irregular, covered and without a reaction to light. Naked visual acuity of the left eye: 0.06 at 3m; 0.08 at 1.5m. Corrected visual acuity of the left eye: 0.3 at 3m; 1.0 at 1.5m. Left eye: normal visual field, able to see colors of left eye, blurry vision, free eyeball movement without obvious nystagmus, light yellow of partial fundus with pigmentation; Right eye: blind with partial light perception. She had a symmetrical forehead wrinkle and nasolabial fold, symmetrical teeth-showing, tongue in the middle when extended, free neck movement, normal muscle tone of the 4 limbs, grade 5 muscle power of her 4 limbs, normal abdominal reflex and normal coordination.

Treatment:
After the admission she received 3 nerve regeneration treatments (neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells) to repair her damaged optic nerves and retinal cells, replace dead nerves and cells, nourish nerves and cells, improve body environment, regulate her immune system and improve blood circulation. This was combined  with rehabilitation training.

Post-treatment:
After 14 days treatment her left eye vision got better with naked visual acuity (standard visual chart) reaching 0.1 at 3m and corrected visual acuity reaching 0.5 at 3m. Her vision function was improved 40%, she could now see 70-80% objects clearly and her reading ability was improved.
